4 medium-sized potatoes (thinly sliced)
1 ½ cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 ½ cups deboned fried chicken (shredded or cut into bite-sized pieces)
1 cup thinly sliced sausage (smoked & cooked on skillet)
1 tbsp butter (for greasing the dish)
Magic™ Poultry Seasoning, Cayenne, & Black Pepper
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)
Instructions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the Dish: Grease a baking dish with butter.
Layer the Ingredients:
Arrange a single layer of thinly sliced potatoes at the bottom of the dish.
Sprinkle with Magic™, cayenne, & black pepper.
Add a layer of fried chicken pieces.
Sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese on top.
Repeat but use the sausage on the second layer.
Ending with a layer of potatoes.
Prepare the Cream Mixture: In a saucepan, gently warm the heavy cream and milk over medium heat. Do not boil.
Assemble and Bake:
Pour the warm cream mixture evenly over the layered dish, ensuring the liquid reaches all corners.
Top with sharp cheddar and grated Parmesan cheese for a golden crust.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Uncover and Broil: Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly, and the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
