Ingredients:
- 4 medium-sized potatoes (thinly sliced)
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 ½ cups deboned fried chicken (shredded or cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 cup thinly sliced sausage (smoked & cooked on skillet)
- 1 tbsp butter (for greasing the dish)
- Magic™ Poultry Seasoning, Cayenne, & Black Pepper
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). - Prepare the Dish:
Grease a baking dish with butter. - Layer the Ingredients:
- Arrange a single layer of thinly sliced potatoes at the bottom of the dish.
- Sprinkle with Magic™, cayenne, & black pepper.
- Add a layer of fried chicken pieces.
- Sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese on top.
- Repeat but use the sausage on the second layer.
- Ending with a layer of potatoes.
- Prepare the Cream Mixture:
In a saucepan, gently warm the heavy cream and milk over medium heat. Do not boil. - Assemble and Bake:
- Pour the warm cream mixture evenly over the layered dish, ensuring the liquid reaches all corners.
- Top with sharp cheddar and grated Parmesan cheese for a golden crust.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Uncover and Broil:
Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly, and the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork. - Serve!
